LOS ANGELES — Southern California has a new U.S. attorney.
Andre Birotte Jr. was sworn in Thursday. He previously served as inspector general of the Los Angeles Police Department.
As U.S. attorney for the Central District, Birotte will oversee about 275 prosecutors covering Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
It’s the largest attorney’s office outside of Washington.
