A San Luis Obispo man was arrested Tuesday night after he allegedly robbed a gas station on Santa Rosa Street.

Police say Manuel Garza, 47, entered a convenience store at the Shell Station at 296 Santa Rosa Street about 7:45 p.m., showed the clerk a steak knife and demanded the clerk open the cash drawer.

He then grabbed the money and fled on foot, police said.

A Cal Poly Police officer spotted a man walking near Foothill Boulevard and Broad Street just after 9 p.m. who fit the description provided by the San Luis Obispo Police Department. The clerk later identified the man as Garza.

Garza was arrested on suspicion of robbery. He was booked at County Jail on $60,000 bail.
