Pismo Beach police and the U.S. Coast Guard searched the waters off the coast of Shell Beach late Sunday after officials received a report of a swimmer seen in the water about 400 yards off shore.
The report of a swimmer entering the water and then seen off shore came in at 6:21 p.m., according to a release from Cal Fire/San Luis Obispo County Fire Communications Operator Eryn Embree.
However, when units arrived on scene they did not see anyone in the water. The incident was turned over to Pismo Beach police and the U.S. Coast Guard at 9:15 p.m. The Coast Guard searched the area again Monday morning but stopped their search at 8 a.m.
Pismo Beach police have received no reports of missing persons.
