Among the sitting mayors to endorse Achadjian are Dave Romero of San Luis Obispo, Tony Ferrara of Arroyo Grande, Mary Ann Reiss of Pismo Beach, Janice Peters of Morro Bay, Duane Picanco of Paso Robles and Lupe Alvarez of Guadalupe.

Former mayors who are backing Achadjian are Ray Johnson of Atascadero, Dee Santos and David Ekbom of Grover Beach, Rodger Anderson and Cathy Novak of Morro Bay, Lynn Cooper of San Luis Obispo, and B’Ann Smith, Mark Millis, and Pete Dougall of Arroyo Grande.

Other Republicans in the race are Paso Robles City Councilman Fred Strong, San Luis Obispo financial planner Matt Kokkonen and former Santa Maria Planning Commissioner Henrietta “Etta” Waterfield.

The sole Democrat to announce so far is Santa Maria City Councilwoman Hilda Zacarias.
