A Templeton teenager died Saturday from injuries resulting from a dirt-bike accident in Kern County.
Stetson Pahler, 14, lost control of the Honda motorbike he was driving on a dirt trail in a popular off-roading area near Inyokern, Calif., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Pahler was driving the bike around 11:30 a.m. Saturday at an unknown speed along the trail when the bike’s front tire struck a steep bump and he was ejected from the bike, according to the CHP report. He was taken by helicopter to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital.
Fellow students and staff at Templeton High School who knew Pahler were offered counseling services Monday.

“Our hearts go out to the Pahler family and community members who were close to the family,” said Templeton Superintendent Deborah Bowers. “Templeton is a close-knit community and a tragedy such as this impacts all of us.”
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Atascadero Bible Church.
