11-year-old boy injured after being hit by car in Nipomo

An 11-year-old boy suffered major injuries after he was hit by a car late Thursday in Nipomo, according to the CHP.

The boy was running north along Alegre Avenue after his dog, and the driver of a gold Saturn was traveling west along Division Street, the CHP said. The Saturn reportedly hit the boy at the corner.

Neither the driver’s nor the boy’s names were disclosed.

The boy was treated initially at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria but later taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, the CHP said.

He suffered major injuries to his abdominal area, according to the CHP.
