SLO County Roundup

San Luis Obispo

The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County will offer tours of the historic Octagon Barn today.

The open tours will be held every half hour from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic site.

Land Conservancy leaders will be on hand to answer questions about restoration work at the barn, which was built more than 100 years ago and is considered one of the county’s most prominent landmarks.

The Land Conservancy seeks donations and in-kind support to transform the barn and the land surrounding it into a community center. An estimated $250,000 in additional work and materials are needed, members said.

The Octagon Barn is located at 4595 S. Higuera St. in San Luis Obispo.
