The Morro Bay Aquarium has added three new seals to its exhibit. Smokey the harbor seal and two California sea lions, Ramses and Hera, were flown in from Sea World in Orlando, Fla., where they were bred, owner Dean Tyler said.
The total number of seals now on display at the private aquarium is five — three sea lions and two harbor seals. The aquarium also houses other sea creatures.
The seals were flown in by San Luis Obispo-based MarcAir. Pilot Lloyd Massey said he had to fly at a low altitude to keep the correct air pressure in the cabin for the seals.
Tyler said he has owned the aquarium for 50 years.
