Laptops, other items stolen from SLO elementary school

Bishop’s Peak Elementary School in San Luis Obispo was burglarized either late Thursday or early Friday morning of technology equipment, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Police are searching for unknown suspects who broke into the school at 451 Jacyee Dr.

The suspects forced open a window in the kitchen and accessed numerous other classrooms from which at least eight laptop computers were stolen, in addition to video cameras, iPods, and gift certificates. The department is investigating leads as to the identity of the suspects.

The other schools in the city were notified of the incident and asked to take additional security measures to secure personal property and valuables in classrooms.

The department will also conduct additional patrols in the area of the schools within the city.
