Police are searching for a Cal Poly student who hasn’t been seen since Monday.

Cal Poly Police Commander Lori Hashim said that Charles Tamae, a 20-year-old landscape architecture student, was reported missing by his roommates from San Luis Obispo home.

Tamae attended one of his scheduled classes on Monday, but not a second class in his schedule, and he hasn’t been seen since by classmates, roommates or family. He also hasn’t been answering his cell phone, Hashim said.

“By all accounts, his absence is unusual and uncharacteristic,” Hashim said.

Tamae’s bike and backpack are missing as well, according to police.

The case has been turned over to the San Luis Obispo Police Department because Tamae’s resides off-campus, Hashim said.

Anyone with information should call police at 781-7312 or Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP.
