Fire damages home on Nipomo Mesa

A fire caused $200,000 worth of damage at a home on the Nipomo Mesa on Monday morning.

The fire was first reported at 10:02 a.m., according to Cal Fire. When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the back of the 2,200-square-foot residence at 535 Stanton Road, near Viejo Road.

The fire was contained at 10:40 a.m., according to Cal Fire. The majority of the damage was in a back bedroom and the attic.

Fire officials estimate $500,000 worth of property was saved.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
