Police looking for man who robbed Paso Robles store with a kitchen knife

Police are looking for a man who robbed a Paso Robles retailer with a small kitchen knife Monday evening.

The clerk at the boutique at 1740 Spring St. told police that the suspect demanded money and was given cash from the register.

The 911 call came in at 7:15 p.m. and the suspect fled prior to officers' arrival, police said.

The clerk told officers the robber was a white male, approximately 20 years old old, with blue eyes and was wearing a black bandanna to cover his face. He was last seen running east on 18th Street, away from the business, police said. Police dogs were used to search the areas immediately surrounding the business but the suspect was not found.

No other witnesses were located.
