Two Atascadero men were arrested Monday afternoon at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo and charged with possession of marijuana for sale.

Jeffrey M. Smith, 27, and Dylan V. Burgess, 26, are being held in County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, officers responding to complaints of people drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana saw the pair making a “hand to hand” drug transaction at around 1:30 p.m.

Police detained Smith and Burgess and, searching the trunk of their vehicle, allegedly found 5 ounces of marijuana, 2 ounces of hashish, and 60 items of baked goods and candy laced with marijuana and packaged for sale.

With the items was a price list indicating how much each baked good and piece of candy cost, police said.
