A Paso Robles man was sentenced today to eight years and eight months in state prison for stabbing his wife with a kitchen knife in April, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Richard Spafford, 52, received his sentence after entering pleas of no contest to felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and criminal threats.
A no-contest plea results in a conviction without an admission of guilt.
Officers said Stafford stabbed his wife with an eight-inch-long kitchen knife.
