Deputies looking for man who entered bedroom where Los Osos couple was sleeping

Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who broke into a Los Osos home last weekend and entered a bedroom where a couple was sleeping.

A woman at the home in the 1900 block of Pecho woke up just before 5 a.m. and saw a man with a flashlight looking under the bed covers. The man fled as soon as she woke up, according to sheriff's officials. The woman woke up her husband sleeping next to her, and he ran downstairs but was not able to find the suspect.

The man apparently entered the home through an unlocked door.

Sex crimes detectives are interviewing sex offenders in the area, but no arrests have been made. The suspect is described as a large man, about 6 feet tall with a stocky build. He was wearing dark clothing.

Detectives are reminding people to lock their doors and windows to prevent such crimes from happening.
