21-year-old in intensive care after assault in SLO's Bubble Gum Alley

A 21-year-old San Luis Obispo man remains in intensive care at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center after he was assaulted early Sunday morning in Bubble Gum Alley downtown, according to San Luis Obispo Police Capt. Chris Staley.

A witness reported to police seeing one man punch another man in the alley at 1:48 a.m. When police arrived, they found Nathan Moore on the ground. He was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center where he remains in serious condition with a head injury.

The witness told police that another white male, age 20 to 25 years old, who stood 5 foot 7 inches tall and had a blond buzz cut hairstyle, hit Moore in the face. The suspect was wearing a tan shirt and blue jeans.

Police have not been able to interview the victim at length, and friends of the victim who may have been with him that night have not yet come forward, police report.
