Police officers surrounded an apartment complex in San Luis Obispo on Thursday afternoon as they looked for a robbery suspect.
A person called 911 at noon to say there was a burglary in progress at 1522 Oceanaire Drive. The victim was able to get several of his items back before the suspect ran from the residence, according to police. The victim was not injured.
Officers started searching the neighborhood and found a person matching the description of the suspect, who then ran into an apartment complex at Los Osos Valley and Madonna roads. A K-9 was called in to help the search as police surrounded the area.
The suspect's bicycle was found inside one of the apartments. Police contacted the resident and then began searching.

The suspect, later identified as Robert Burns, 24, was found hiding in the attic, according to police.
As officers tried to catch Burns, he kicked out a roof vent and climbed onto the roof, according to police. Officers were able to keep him on the roof, where he was later arrested.
Burns, of San Luis Obispo, was booked into County Jail. Investigators believe he may be responsible for other burglaries in the area.
