One man was arrested and another was reportedly on the loose Wednesday night after police say they assaulted and tried to carjack a San Luis Obispo man.
Officers said Timothy Thomas Zapareski, 38, of San Luis Obispo, an unidentified white man and an unidentified white woman approached 25-year-old Paul Horn’s vehicle in the 2300 block of Meadow Street about 7 p.m.
The three reportedly asked Horn for a ride. As Horn let them in, he was assaulted in an effort to obtain his keys and steal the vehicle, police said.
They fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Paramedics treated Horn at the scene and he was released.
