Grover Beach Police have arrested a man in connection with an officer-involved shooting Sunday night.
Randal Clay Corvey, 49, of Grover Beach, was arrested sometime overnight on suspicion of assaulting an officer with a deadly weapon, possessing a deadly weapon, two instances of assaulting an officer causing injury, resisting an officer with violence and possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.
The incident happened at 6:45 p.m. in the 100 block of North 10th Street, just off West Grand Avenue, when police responded to the area after someone reported a suspicious subject. When they got there, officers confronted Corvey and were involved in a shootout.
The two officers involved in the incident sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Corvey was taken to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for non life-threatening injuries, and later booked into County Jail.
Police aren’t revealing the reason for the shooting or the names of the officers involved. They have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
The DA’s office is assisting with the investigation, which is ongoing.
