A fire burned about 15 acres of remote lands northeast of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant on Saturday, according to County/Cal Fire.
The blaze was reported at 2:40 p.m. in an area at least a mile from the power plant, accessible initially only by air because of its distance from roads or trails, according to radio dispatches.
Lacking winds, the fire spread very slowly and didn’t threaten any structures, according to Cal Fire.
It had spread to just four acres by 3:30 p.m., and to 15 by about 7 p.m., according to Cal Fire reports and radio dispatches.
