Sheriff’s deputies arrested an alleged burglar in Nipomo early Saturday after a homeowner caught him in his garage. Aided by a neighbor and his wife – who was wielding a baseball bat – the homeowner detained the burglar for authorities.
Isaias Junior Alvarado, 20, was treated at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, then booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.
Alvarado allegedly had property from another burglary in his possession at the time of his arrest at 12:37 a.m. Saturday, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Bail was set at $70,000.

The department said the homeowner – whom it did not identify – in the 900 block of Grande was awakened by the alarm in his detached garage.
Investigating, he saw a screen off the window and broken glass.
He saw Alvarez, and shouted, which sent the alleged burglar out the window. The homeowner caught him, aided by his wife and the neighbor, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
