Jim Belushi, Brooke Shields were at Hearst Ranch when plane rolled into car, report says

At least two celebrities — Jim Belushi and Brooke Shields — are listed as witnesses in a Sheriff’s Department report of a non-injury accident Friday at Hearst Ranch, where a small aircraft rolled into a parked car.

The incident happened at 5:15 p.m. Friday, according to Sheriff’s Department spokesman Rob Bryn, who was reading from a log of calls that day.

Actor Belushi was listed as a witness inside the plane, and actress and model Shields was listed on the log as a witness, although it wasn't clear whether she was in the plane. The airstrip is sometimes used as a landing place for visitors to Hearst Castle or to Hearst Ranch itself.

Western Air Charter flew the aircraft into the area. Ken Smith, the La Verne company’s director of operations, said he could not discuss details because those will go into a report to federal aviation authorities.

“It was a minor event after the plane had landed and come to a stop. There was damage to the car as well as to the airplane. Nobody was injured. Nobody was scratched,” he said.

Smith would not confirm Belushi’s or Shields’ presence at the incident, saying that passenger lists are confidential.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said his agency is investigating the accident, but he had no other details.
