A drill to test public health officials’ abilities to respond to an outbreak of disease was held Wednesday and featured real vaccines for seasonal flu.
A total of 2,000 doses of flu vaccine were prepared, and shots were given to emergency responders, county employees, seniors and people with medical conditions that make them susceptible to influenza.
The vaccinations were administered in Grover Beach, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. At left, Ray Hais, right, and David Murray of the San Luis Obispo Fire Department prepare dosages of the vaccine.
