A woman suffered major injuries after the Honda Civic she was driving collided with a semi-truck just after 12:30 p.m. Friday along southbound Highway 101, south of Los Osos Valley Road in San Luis Obispo.
The freeway’s Los Osos Valley Road on-ramp was closed as rescuers, several officers and a Caltrans crew responded, according to the CHP.
Traffic along the freeway was backed up as far as Grand Avenue in San Luis Obispo by 1:45 p.m.
A woman was trapped inside the car shortly after the wreck, according to the CHP.

Emergency crews reopened the road by 2:15 p.m., according to the CHP.
