CMC guard recovering today from Saturday attack outside prison

Officials from California Men’s Colony and a number of San Luis Obispo County law enforcement agencies continued their search today for at least two men who brutally attacked a sergeant while he was on routine patrol outside prison perimeters Saturday night.The 56-year-old guard was able to fend off his attackers and use a radio to get help after was attacked about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to CMC spokesman Mike Siebert.The attackers escaped on foot before police arrived. They were not inmates.
