Which Wich has announced plans to open about six more stores in San Luis Obispo County within three to five years — with possible locations in Pismo Beach and Avila Beach.
The fast-food restaurant sells sandwiches, salads, desserts and milkshakes.
It has opened 46 new stores so far this year and is on track to open 75 by year's end, said Connie Alires, director of franchise development.
The company plans to open 100 new stores in 2016, she said. There are currently 362 Which Wich stores operating.

Which Wich is targeting San Luis Obispo County because of its educated, higher-income residents who generally engage in healthy lifestyles and seek quality food that can be incorporated into busy lifestyles, Alires said. She added that Cal Poly is another factor, with students looking for healthy food on-the-go.
The existing Which Wich store in San Luis Obispo County is located at 1035 Chorro St. in San Luis Obispo.
The company is still conducting preliminary research and hasn’t yet solidified locations within the county, though Alires mentioned Pismo Beach and Avila Beach as potential sites.
In higher-end areas, such as San Luis Obispo County, a franchisee invests about $350,000 to open a store and generally employs a staff of 15 to 25.
Which Wich franchisee Rahul Vinchhi, who opened the San Luis Obispo store with his wife, Tejal Vinchhi, in June 2014, said that many of their customers are unfamiliar with the Which Wich brand.
Rahul Vinchhi said he’s seen a specific increase in sales from catering, with around 7 percent to 10 percent growth in catering sales each quarter.
He said that while he has no immediate plans to open another Which Wich store, he would be interested in the possibility.
