San Luis Obispo County public works crews on Monday will begin repairing a bridge on Morretti Canyon Road about two and a half miles east of Orcutt Road.
Work is expected to continue through Nov. 17, according to the county Department of Public Works.
The project entails removing the bridge’s old wooden deck, building a new foundation, replacing the deck with concrete and installing railing.
During construction one lane of traffic will be open to the public on Morretti Canyon Road, and vehicle traffic is expected to experience up to 20-minute delays. The county expects to close the road to motorists between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. at a later phase of the project. In the meantime, motorists are asked to adjust their travel plans and consider alternate routes.
