The Grover Beach Police Department has arrested two men on drug and probation violation charges.
The men, Allen Michael Thompson, 26, and Jordan William King, 29, were stopped by a Grover Beach police officer on the 200 block of West Branch Street in Arroyo Grande.
Grover Beach police had been notified of a potential drug transaction in the 100 block of Carmelde Lane in Grover Beach at about 10:45 a.m. An associated vehicle was identified and followed by Grover Beach police officers. Thompson was driving and King was a passenger in the car when Grover Beach police stopped them in Arroyo Grande, according to a Grover Beach police department news release.
Thompson was driving on a suspended license, and he and King were determined to be on probation. A probation search of the car turned up illegal narcotics, controlled substances and a firearm, according to the news release.

Thompson was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics and controlled substances, possession of narcotics and controlled substances for sale, transportation of narcotics and controlled substance, a felony probation violation, as well as other charges.
King was arrested on suspicion of possession of narcotics and controlled substances, possession of narcotics and controlled substances for sale, transportation of narcotics and controlled substances, and on a probation violation.
Thompson and King were booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail and remained in custody Thursday night. King’s bail was set at $45,000, and Thompson’s at $355,000.
