A local man who fell off a boat in Morro Bay Harbor on Friday evening died Sunday, said Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center spokesman Ron Yukelson.
The man fell overboard while on a commercial dinner boat cruise on the Papagallo II. He was pulled from the water by a fellow passenger and the crew of an oyster fishing boat, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The man was taken to Sierra Vista in San Luis Obispo and had been listed in critical condition earlier Sunday.
The man’s name has not been released; Morro Bay Detective Tony Mosqueda said he is believed to be from San Luis Obispo.
“We’re right in the center of the investigation,” Morro Bay police Cmdr. Bryan Millard said. “We want to be very complete about it because of the tragedy of the situation.”
Millard said no one has been charged or arrested as a result of the incident.
