The Cal Poly Strawberry Center is holding its first U-Pick on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Anyone who wishes to pick strawberries from the campus selection may do so for $2 per pound.
To get there, go to Highland Drive or Stenner Creek Road and follow the U-Pick signs to the field.
U-Pick will continue at the same location Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. while supplies last, according to Cal Poly.
The fruits are being cultivated by the Cal Poly Strawberry Center, which is a part of the College of Agriculture, Food & Environmental Sciences.
The center is a partnership between Cal Poly and the California Strawberry Commission. The commission donated $1 million in 2013 to create the center that focuses on research and education involving Cal Poly students, faculty and farmers.
