On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the San Miguel Chamber of Commerce will have its first “Charter and New Member Appreciation” mixer from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Ranch.
The event is open to the public. A door prize ticket will be given to each attendee. You may win a gift certificate for a local business, a bottle of wine or the grand prize of a one-year membership in the chamber. Come to meet and greet and enjoy food and fun.
New at Mercantile
The San Miguel Mercantile has added ice cream treats, bagged candy and chips to the store.
The Mercantile regularly carries Las Vegas purses, Scala hats, Republic of Tea selections and Heritage seeds. Through the end of August, silver earrings and children’s books are 50 percent off.

Downtown this week I heard several complaints about drivers speeding through town.
The speed limit through the business district is 25 miles per hour. This is not a suggestion. It means that cars and trucks are to slow down and watch for pedestrians. Thank you for being aware and driving safely.
