A man killed Saturday when his truck rolled down an embankment on Nacimiento Lake Drive north of Paso Robles has been identified as Richmond Corrales Eskridge, 22, of Big Sur.
Alcohol is suspected to have been involved in the crash, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Seebart.
Eskridge, who was not wearing a seat belt, failed to negotiate a curve between midnight and 5 a.m. north of Heritage Loop Road and was ejected from the Ford F-150 as it rolled multiple times, according to a CHP collision report. The pickup then crashed into a tree and burst into flames, sparking a fire that burned one-eighth of an acre and destroyed the truck.
The incident is currently under investigation.
