A modern replica of the famous 1851 racing yacht America will sail to Morro Bay on Friday as part of the America’s Cup Tour.
The America’s Cup Tour, which launched out of San Diego, will travel to the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean to spark excitement in the yachting community and to engage the next generation of America’s Cup fans.
The yacht will be docked Friday at the Morro Bay Yacht Club at 541 Embarcadero in Morro Bay.
It will be available for public dockside tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is invited to set sail on the ship from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on a sail around Estero Bay. Tickets for the afternoon sail — from $55 to $75 — can be purchased at: http://www.zerve.com/nxtlevelsail. The yacht will depart from Morro Bay to continue on its tour at 7:30 p.m.
