Thousands of people flocked to Pismo Beach for the annual Fourth of July fireworks show Saturday night.
Fog that hung just off the coast early in the evening began to move toward shore as the light show began but the pyrotechnics stayed stayed bright and beautiful. The appreciative crowd cheered as the fireworks display reached its spectacular finale.
It was one of just two fireworks shows in San Luis Obispo County this year, with the second being held in Cayucos. Fireworks were cancelled in Cambria, Paso Robles and Morro Bay either for financial reasons or out of concern for fire danger during the ongoing drought.
