Cal Poly accounting professor Steven Mintz received the 2014 Max Block Award from CPA Journal for his research in accounting ethics.
Mintz was honored for his work in the “informed comment category” for his article titled “Revised AICPA Code of Professional Conduct: Analyzing the Ethical Responsibilities for Members in Public Practice and Members in Business.”
The write-up appeared in the journal’s December 2014 edition and provides examples of ethical dilemmas that certified public accountants face — and how those challenges can be met within the confines of a code of ethics.
Mintz also explains how 2014 changes to the American Institute of CPA’s ethical code of conduct influence the responsibilities of its more than 400,000 members.
