Have you ever gotten stuck in an interminable line for gas at Costco in San Luis Obispo?

If so, the popular warehouse chain has some good news for you.

According to an application filed with the city, Costco wants to expand the gas station and parking lot at its store on Froom Ranch Way.

In the application, Costco said it hopes to add 10 fuel pumps under a 9,257-square-foot canopy extension. It also applied to expand its parking lot with 129 spaces.

According to the application, the company would have to remove seven trees as part of the expansion.

The big-box retailer opened its 140,000-square-foot warehouse with gas station at 1540 Froom Ranch Way in September 2005.

The city will hold a public hearing on the application April 8 at 2:30 p.m. in Conference Room 9 at 919 Palm St.

A request for comment from Costco media representatives was not immediately returned Thursday.
