A gas leak in Grover Beach on Tuesday morning prompted evacuations nearby.
The leak is in a construction zone at Second Street and Newport Avenue, Grover Beach police said at about 8:30 a.m.
Authorities evacuated nearby buildings and closed off the area, police said. Officials ask everyone to avoid the area.
As of about 8:50 a.m., police said the gas company is en route and "expected any minute."
