A 16-year-old Orcutt girl who was reported missing by her family in mid-September was located Wednesday in Othello, Washington, according to a news release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.
Destiny Navarette was reported missing Sept. 19 and was believed to be with her 18-year-old boyfriend Miguel Perez De La Cruz of Guadalupe, who has an active warrant out for his arrest for a probation violation.
There also is a current criminal protective order prohibiting De La Cruz from contacting Navarette. Earlier this year, she was reported as a runaway and was later found with De La Cruz.
The two teens were located about 4 p.m. Wednesday in Othello, a small town about 100 miles southwest of Spokane, where one of De La Cruz’s relatives lives, the release said.

“Navarette was found safe and is in the process of being returned to her family,” the release said.
De La Cruz was taken into custody and booked into jail in Washington for violation of his restraining order.
The incident remains under investigation, the release said.
