Brush fire on Nipomo Mesa now 100 percent contained

Cal Fire San Luis Obispo crews fully contained the Zenon Fire on the Nipomo Mesa on Friday.

By 7 p.m., the fire was upgraded to 100 percent containment, and it remained at 47 acres, according to Cal Fire SLO.

Cal Fire Capt. David Kay said no structures were damaged in the blaze, and there were no reported injuries. About 45 firefighters, including three engine companies, two hand crews and a water tender, spent the day Friday doing mop-up and working to prevent the fire from reigniting.
