A 12-year-old girl suffered a head injury after she fell from Ragged Point on Monday morning, officials said.
About 11:15 a.m., the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a girl who had fallen over the cliffs near the Ragged Point Inn, according to sheriff’s spokesman Tony Cipolla.
The U.S. Coast Guard was notified of the injury about 11:30 a.m., according to Petty Officer First Class Mark Barney, spokesman for the Coast Guard’s Los Angeles-Long Beach sector. Barney said the girl fell about 300 feet, according to witness accounts, and was taken via helicopter to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose.
She was in stable condition as of Monday afternoon, Barney said. Additional information about her condition was not immediately available late Monday.
