Video shows CHP helicopter rescue of Los Osos man stuck in ravine

The California Highway Patrol has released a video of its rescue of a Los Osos man with dementia, who wandered off and was found in a steep ravine.

Daniel Alan Arndt, 69, was airlifted by CHP helicopter on June 30, the day after he was reported missing. Rescuers found him about 12:30 p.m. in a ravine near Jacaranda Lane in San Luis Obispo after they called his name and heard him respond. The video shows the rescue as he is lifted to safety.

Arndt was responding positively and taken to the hospital for a checkup.
