Police have identified the 35-year-old man who went missing after he went overboard from an inflatable fishing vessel three miles off the coast of Port San Luis on Friday as Nicholas Deloss Marold of Arroyo Grande.

Rescuers suspended the search for Marold at 8:30 p.m. Friday. A Coast Guard vessel and helicopter, Port San Luis Harbor Patrol, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office dive team, a CHP helicopter and rescue divers assisted with the search after responding to a call from another boater around noon saying Marold was fishing with one other person when he fell into the water.

A spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office said Marold’s body had not been recovered as of Saturday evening, and the search has not resumed.
