Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham introduced a resolution to dedicate part of Highway 101 to Matthew Frank, the local photographer and newsgatherer known as SLOStringer, his office announced Thursday.

The resolution would dedicate Highway 101 from Avila Beach Drive to Spyglass Drive to Frank, Cunningham’s office said.

“He chased breaking news across the Central Coast, reporting on social media with tremendous talent,” Cunningham said in a news release. “Through social media, Matthew provided the community with real-time information on current events, on road closures, on crimes and on fires. I speak on behalf of all San Luis Obispo County when I say he will be dearly missed.”

Frank was killed in a crash on Highway 101 on March 21, while he was on his way to a house fire in Atascadero.
