Grover Beach police officers “ticketed” four kids who were riding their bikes on Tuesday.

Here’s a twist: the kids were wearing helmets and riding safely. And the tickets were for their good behavior.

It’s part of “Operation Chill” a community service program through 7-Eleven where law enforcement agencies distribute free Slurpee coupons to kids. The coupons are a reward for good deeds, positive activities and acts of kindness, according to a news release.

“Gotcha! Slurpee Patrol ‘caught’ four kids wearing their helmets and riding their bikes safely along Grand Avenue!” read a post from the Police Department.
