Update, 4:20 p.m. Friday:

Crews reopened the 1500 block of Santa Rosa Street on Thursday night after turning residents’ water back on and patching the road, said Aaron Floyd, San Luis Obispo’s deputy director of utilities.

Update, 8:45 p.m. Thursday:

City crews continue to work to fix the water main break near Mitchell Park, San Luis Obispo Police Department Sgt. Jason Dickel said. The road remains closed.

Dickel did not have an estimated time that the road could reopen. More information was not immediately available.

The 1500 block of Santa Rosa Street in San Luis Obispo is closed as authorities to respond to a water main break, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

The department wrote in an advisory message sent out to the public that the street is buckling and “a city crew is on the way to address the problem.”

It’s unclear for how long the street may be closed as city officials work to fix the problem.
