Rescue called off for man on Pismo Beach cliff

Update, 10:45 a.m.

According to Cal Fire, the man has refused to be rescued, telling responders that he will wait for low tide to leave the cliff.

Cal Fire firefighters are rescuing a man who was found halfway down a cliff near the SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel in Pismo Beach on Sunday morning.

Responders first arrived on the scene at 8:25 a.m., according to Cal Fire. As of 9:35 a.m., they were still in the process of rescuing the man.
