3 SLO County hotels show off renovated properties

With their recent renovations, hotel properties in Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo are presenting a fresh face to visitors and locals alike.

The Spyglass Inn, 2705 Spyglass Drive in Pismo Beach, has 82 refurbished rooms, many of them featuring private patios and balconies with ocean views. The inn now has free Wi-Fi, in-room fireplaces and other luxurious amenities, according to Visit San Luis Obispo County, the nonprofit organization that promotes county tourism.

Martin Resorts, owner and operator of several hotels in San Luis Obispo County, is celebrating the grand opening of The Inn at the Cove, a 52-room upscale boutique hotel off the ocean at 2651 Price St. The inn had previously been the Best Western Plus Shelter Cove Lodge. Martin Resorts, the parent company, began upgrading the facilities in 2013. Now, all of the rooms have new bedding, wallpaper, carpet, draperies, and flat-screen televisions, and bathrooms featuring granite countertops. Binoculars for viewing sea life are also available for guests.

In San Luis Obispo, the La Cuesta Inn, 2074 Monterey St., has completed a nearly $1 million renovation. The hotel's management company, Ledgestone Hospitality, renovated the lobby, breakfast room and hallways, and upgraded the 70 guest rooms with custom furniture, modern lighting, luxury linens and new draperies. The hotel's hallways also feature local photography. The renovation was part of the hotel's 30th anniversary celebration, said Visit San Luis Obispo County.
