A new Paso Robles tourism group called the Tourism Resource Council has been set up to find untapped ways to promote the city.
“The move signifies a more focused approach to tourism than previously undertaken in Paso Robles,” city tourism coordinator Shonna Howenstine said in a news release, adding that they will poll attendees on challenges or opportunities “they are aware of that aren’t being addressed by any of the current tourism and marketing efforts.”
The Tourism Collaboration Committee, an advisory body to the Paso Robles City Council, formed the council earlier this year. It plans to reach out to restaurants, merchants, bed-and-breakfasts, vacation rentals, transportation companies, tasting rooms, art galleries and other tourism or hospitality-related businesses.
The Tourism Resource Council will meet as needed. Those interested in joining must work for or own a Paso Robles-area tourism, hospitality or marketing-related business or organization.
