The Best Western Plus Shelter Cove Lodge is undergoing renovations to transform it into “an upscale boutique hotel,” according to a news release from the hotel’s parent company, Martin Resorts. The hotel will be renamed The Inn at the Cove and will no longer be affiliated with Best Western.

Phased renovations began on the 52-room hotel in 2013, with a lobby renovation, the addition of a poolside breakfast room and new bedding, wallpaper, carpet, draperies and flat-screen TVs being added in the guest rooms, as well as bathroom updates.

The work continues this fall and will include upgrades to the exterior public spaces, according to the release. This includes rebuilding guest room balconies for unobstructed ocean views, landscaping and enhancing the hotel’s coastal trails and beach access.

The hotel will remain open during the renovations, which are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
