Sarah Linn, 33, who has been a reporter for 11 years and with The Tribune for the past nine, has been named editor of Ticket, the newspaper’s arts and entertainment section that appears in print each Thursday. She took over this week from Justin Hoeger, who resigned to move to the Bay area to be closer to his family.
Linn has spent most of her career covering local entertainment — theater, dance, music, movies and television, as well as the visual arts. For the past two years, she also has worked part-time as an assistant city editor, assigning and editing local stories. Her coverage has helped garner awards for lifestyle and arts and entertainment from the California Newspaper Publishers Association.
Outside of the office, Linn has served as a volunteer judge and presenter for the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, watching dozens of films.
In her new role as Ticket editor, Linn will assign and edit stories from staff and freelancers and work with her colleagues to keep the section local, informative, engaging and useful. She also will continue to write both features and news stories and act as a part-time assistant city editor.
